Doctors

The practice has male and female clinicians, patients have a choice to see a female clinician Monday – Friday and a male clinician on Monday/Tuesday mornings and Wednesdays and Fridays. The female doctor has a special interest in women’s health.

Nurses

Practice Nurse works on Monday and Thursdays from 09:00 till 15:00.

Administration

Our trained and experienced receptionist are your first point of contact - they will find a way to help you, by booking you an appointment with one of the clinicians at weatheroak medical center or urgent treatment center

Practice Management

The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Healthcare Assistant

The HCA is available on Wednesdays and Fridays from 09:00 till 15:00. She carries out routine health checks and gives lifestyle advice. She also supports management of chronic diseases.

Community Midwives

Women who think they are pregnant, must do a home pregnancy test. if the test is positive, and you suffers from any chronic disease or gestational diabetes in your previous pregnancy, please book an appointment with HCA. Otherwise collect the Antenatal Form from reception to complete and hand back to reception. A referral will be made to the community midwife. The midwife will make an appointment and see you to arrange your pregnancy care and confinement in the hospital

Community Nurses

The district nurses are employed by the Community Health Care Trust. They provide a variety of care and services to housebound and disabled patients. They may be arranged to monitor your general condition, check blood pressure, dress wounds or leg ulcers, assess incontinence and provide incontinence pads, check your mobility and provide necessary aids, do catheter care, give you injections or help with medication or do your blood tests and so on. If you have been in hospital or had an operation, hospital may arrange district nurses to come for review or see you for wound care and removal of stitches. They can be contacted on 0300 555 1919.

Health Visitors

Common problems of babies and small children can be very challenging for first time mothers. Facial rash, cradle cap, discharge from umbilicus, bringing up milk (reflux), loose motions, constipation, nappy rash, poor feeding, very hungry baby, concern about weight gain or often not due to illness. Health visitor is best placed to explain and advise. Our health visitor is based at Greet Health Care Centre Percy Road Sparkhill. Health visitors monitor growth and developement of children under 5 years of age. You should see them for your babies height and weight measurements. They can also advise on common mother and baby problems. You do not need an appointment to see them Clinics are held on 1.
